Forerunners – Those Who Go Before
What’s in a name? In Biblical thought, there is an emphasis placed on a name far more than in our culture today. The name reflects the person’s character and/or role. For instance, Jacob means "deceiver," but God changed his name to Israel. which means “he struggles with God.”
Senior adults at Lynwood have blazed the trail for others to follow and continue to lead by servant-hearted example. We have the responsibility and calling to share the greatness and faithfulness of our God as experienced in our lives. So we call our group ForeRunners.
The age of our group is around 55 and up. We are an active and committed fellowship of believers in Christ who want to continue to bring glory to God through our lives. Forerunners have a lot to share and give to those who follow.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus…” Hebrews 12:1-2a

Get Involved
In addition to monthly luncheons, our Forerunners enjoy several day trips and travel excursions throughout the year. There are also various ways our ForeRunners regularly help our office staff in preparing for worship and with mass mailings.
